But I stand corrected 🙂 This ad is a perfect example of witty, funny response to a trending event. In their latest ad, Peloton connects to the very much publicized sequel of “Sex and the City“. Sorry for the spoiler, but I guess you’ve all probably heard this already, one of the main characters of the show Mr.Big dies in the second episode after his regular cycling exercise with Peloton.
The ad, as a response to this unfortunate event, cleverly connects all the key points of the very cringe show, giving us all the relief and closure we needed after the unsuccessful attempt to make the show deep and meaningful. We see Mr. Big alive and well, enjoying his time with his instructor, free of all the unnecessary drama. And just like that…a good story can be made, even from a bad starting point. Enjoy 🙂
