I never thought I’d like a Peloton ad…

But I stand corrected 🙂 This ad is a perfect example of witty, funny response to a trending event. In their latest ad, Peloton connects to the very much publicized sequel of “Sex and the City“. Sorry for the spoiler, but I guess you’ve all probably heard this already, one of the main characters of the show Mr.Big dies in the second episode after his regular cycling exercise with Peloton.

One of my favorite things about modern marketing is the focus that is placed on storytelling. Giving the primate to the story instead of the product itself can make the ad so much stronger and effective. One of the great examples of this approach is the latest ad by Puma. Developed in collaboration with J.Coles’ production Dreamville, it presents a dreamy story of a child wanting to become a basketball player.

Spotify continues the series of great campaigns 🙂 This time, they bring a great blend of nostalgia and creativity, making us as one of my friends said “feel old and want Spotify at the same time”. It might be my age, ‘cause at 33 this is the perfect reminder of my childhood and current state, but it is also the great copy writing that makes this campaign so great. Take a look at the ads, I’m sure you’ll find yourself in at least one of them. 🙂
